Privacy Policy

1. Purpose and Scope

Claroda ("Claroda," "we," "us," or "our") is a boutique data consulting firm. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information in the course of our business, including through our website at claroda.com (the "Site") and in connection with our consulting services (collectively, the "Services").

Claroda is incorporated in the United States, with team members based in the United States and India. This policy applies to current, prospective, and former clients, website visitors, and business partners.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

  • Name, email address, phone number, company name, and job title, when you contact us, request information, or engage us for services.

  • The content of any message, form submission, or communication you send us.

Information collected automatically:

  • Standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited, collected via our web server logs and, where used, analytics tools.

  • Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 3 below.

Information from other sources:

  • Information shared with us by a technology or channel partner when referring a prospective client to Claroda.

  • Publicly available business information used for standard B2B due diligence ahead of an engagement.

We do not purchase personal information from third-party data brokers, and we do not collect information through a consumer-facing mobile application.

3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our website uses only cookies that are strictly necessary for it to function (e.g., maintaining basic session state). We do not use the Site to serve interest-based or targeted advertising, and we do not share Site visitor data with advertising networks.

4. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Respond to inquiries and evaluate potential engagements;

  • Deliver, manage, and support our consulting services;

  • Operate, secure, and improve the Site;

  • Communicate with clients, prospects, and partners about our services;

  • Meet legal, tax, contractual, and regulatory obligations;

  • Detect and prevent fraud or misuse of our systems.

5. Client Data During Engagements

When Claroda performs consulting work on a client's systems or data, we process that data strictly on the client's instructions and within the scope agreed in the applicable contract. In that context:

  • The client remains responsible for its own underlying data;

  • We do not use one client's data for another client's benefit;

  • We do not use client data to train any third-party or internal AI model unless the client has separately agreed to this in writing;

  • We will enter into a data processing agreement with a client where required by applicable law or the client's own policy.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We may share it with:

  • Service providers, who support our business operations (e.g., hosting, productivity, and internal tooling providers) under confidentiality obligations;

  • Technology or channel partners, where necessary to deliver a joint engagement;

  • Professional advisors, such as legal or accounting firms;

  • Regulators, courts, or law enforcement, where required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or those of others;

  • A successor entity, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy or a materially similar one.

7. International Data Transfers

Because our team operates across the United States and India, information may be transferred to and processed in either country. Where required by applicable law (for example, transfers of EEA/UK personal data), we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, resolve disputes, and comply with legal or contractual obligations. Client engagement data is generally retained for up to 3 years after an engagement ends, unless a longer period is required by law or contract.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you;

  • Correct inaccurate personal information;

  • Delete your personal information, subject to legal exceptions;

  • Restrict or object to certain processing;

  • Receive a copy of your personal information in a portable format;

  • Withdraw consent, where processing is based on consent.

California residents: you have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your rights under the CCPA.

EEA/UK residents: you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@claroda.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children's Privacy

Our Services are directed to businesses and are not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16, where applicable local law sets a higher age).

12. Changes to This Policy

We may revise this policy from time to time. The "Effective Date" above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be posted on this page or communicated as otherwise required by law.
